My son was in the infant room for 2 weeks and we decided we needed to find a new daycare, since you have to give La Petite 2 weeks notice he was there for a month. Our main reason for moving was my son was in the infant room and the woman who took care of him in the mornings smelled like a walking ash tray every time we dropped him off. My son got a cold and it took him 3 weeks to get over it, the doc said being around people who smoke make it 2 times harder for infants to get over a cold. Other reasons for leaving: at the end of the day they try to minimize staff so they bring toddlers into the infant room, I can't tell you how many times I saw a toddle run up to my son, take his pacifier and put it in his mouth then give it back to my son. They give the toddlers Ritz crackers and they eat them while running around the infant room, on 2 occasions I saw a piece of cracker fall on the floor and an infant with no teeth get a hold of it, could you imagine if the infant had choked on it. Another thing I did not like is that you have to walk through the big kids room to get to the infant and toddler rooms, some days the kids in the big kids room are going crazy and I can't even get out of the infant room carrying my son in his car seat because the kids are running back and forth right outside the door, also big kids are constantly opening the door and walking in the infant room for no reason. They started giving my son gas drops without my permission, a few weeks later one of the ladies said " he is almost out of gas drops you might want to bring in some more" I gave her a funny look and said " I've never brought in gas drops in the first place so I don't know whose you are giving him," until the day he left daycare they were still giving him gas drops WITHOUT my permission and I never figured out whose drops they were. Needless to say we got out of there as SOON as we could, we found a new daycare in Valparaiso that is $40 a week cheaper, much cleaner, has more caregivers to kids, and even has camera's with online viewing so you can check up on your child if you want. Although some of the staff members were very sweet I still DO NOT recommend this day care one bit.
