All schools have their issues. I know first hand that this school is a very good school. And again all schools are going to have teachers that care more than others(which is a shame) but the principal is very warm and concerned not only with what is best for the child she is open to all suggestions. The kids thrive at this school. If there is a problem look at the home first, before blaming the school.  I have never witnessed racial things at this school. I see more of the parents spreading hate and slander then anything.  The teachers are there to teach your children and if the gossip and all the other stuff would end. just imagine what could happen. The school i a great school just look at the test scores .. I know not everything should be judge on test scores but if the teachers and staff didn't do their job.. they would not  have the scores they do. If the parents feel their are issues why haven't they joined the PFA and made the changes and made a difference instead of just yapping.  Get involved and know the facts. Dont go on hear say.  FIE is a great school the teachers spend many hours of their own time planning for their students future. Lets not forget they spend their own money as well to teach the children in their classroom. sometimes parents don't look at the whole picture. if you think you can do better please keep your child at home.

My children have attended numerous schools in the clay county area as well as in duval. Never in my life  have I seen so much racism in ONE place. Those kids get that from their parents of course, but the staff as well as the teachers (Not all of them) who work at this school seem to perpetuate racism and inequality on a daily basis. Although I, nor my children are of color, I have not raised my children to hate. The things I have seen myself and the things my children come home and tell me angers me to no end. The school wants you to think they are an A school because they just have everything together and that they do not have racial problems. I know racism is everywhere but for little children to have to try to figure out why their teacher treats them badly or why the students treat them badly is alot for a kid to deal with especially when they have no knowledge of what is really going on. My neighbors told me that there were some real issues at that school but I didn't believe them because these people paint a really pretty picture. There ARE some really great teachers there but the horrible ones make it bad for the good ones. Send your kids to private school. Skip Fleming island if you don't want your kids to be taught that it's ok to hate others based on their hue. Just my opinion on what I have seen.

"They have a newly built building which is absolutely gorgeous and very well laid out. In general the staff is caring, but firm. Only bad thing is that parent involvement is not encouraged. Yet!!"
