Stacy: While the school may be an older building, you won't find a more loving and caring staff ANYWHERE! The education they provide is wonderful and the atmosphere is positive and God loving. True, they have fun little ways to raise money for field trips or special projects like pajama day, silly hat day or selling treats ect. But it isn't mandatory that everyone participate, is $2 really too much to ask for??? If yes... don't wear pajamas or a silly hat!!! What's the difference between that and other schools selling candy and gift items or having car washes every weekend FREE EDUCATION??? If it were free wouldn't there be a lot more students in each class? There are quite a few scholarship oppertunities out there for ANYONE to see if they qualify. Nothing in life is free. Tuition costs change according to grade everyone is treated equally. I'm pretty sure they have spanish, music, art, computer, christian living... I'm maybe forgetting something. They've had a soccer and volleyball team for several years now and even basketball.
This school is a fantastic place for your children to grow up. So many former students have come back to enroll their children, obviously the experience they had at A.P.B.S. has made an unforgetable impression on their lives. The staff here has brought so many children to Christ and made a difference in sooo many lives... God is in this place!!!!!
This is a dirty, run-down school with no real educational programs or activities to speak of. They nickle and dime the parents for everything - including paying cash for the privledge of the children to wear fun hats or pajamas every now and then. The teachers care about the kids, but with so many kids getting free educations, the cost for the paying kids is higher. No real art, science, sports, creative outlets, etc. If you think you're saving money on a private school, think again. Your child deserves better.
I have taught elementary music at Azalea Park Baptist School for 40 years. Through the years the school has continually maintained a high standard of excellence in all scholastic areas. Our teachers are - and always have been - loving, caring and supportive. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that they possess a strong love for their Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ. APBS has a smaller enrollment, as compared to other schools, but this only allows for a stronger "family" atmosphere in the classroom. Our school goes "overboard" to work with each student individually to make certain that they remain on the right path -- scholastically and spiritually. I remain extremely proud to be an Azalea Park Baptist School Crusader.
