About This School
Magnet schools are public schools that offer a specialized curriculum or educational philosophy, often with a specific focus or theme. Magnet schools promote student diversity because they are open to students outside the normal school district boundaries and often attract high caliber students through competitive programs. Boone High School Reviews
My 2 kids went to BHS. 1 in the Finance magnet and at UF now and 1 in Law Magnet (senior) Boone teachers care about their students, reasonably good education, safe campus. Only down side is the politics but that's life, it's good to learn those lessons young and provided me an opportunity for a teachable moment for the kids. For the student who wants to learn and excel you have an opportunity at BHS to take AP classes and college prep classes. Biggest asset is the Teachers, for the most part, they have been exceptional.
Possibly the best school I've never with too. I attended Boone is 2007 in 10 grade, and loved every minute of it. I'm in college now and sometimes, I would think of my former school. Not only the academics are excellent, but also the culture. Still wish I was at Boone High...
There is little tolerance for diversity at this school and there is a strong GOP/tea party/confederate presence there. In fact, it got worse after Obama was elected. Most of the minorities are treated like second class citizens... at the same time, the staff and the principal can't figure out (for the life of them) why they can't close the 25% gap in academic gains between their black and white students.
Boone is an excellent school where the teachers and staff care about the success of their students. My oldest graduatied from Boone and is now at UF, my youngest child will be a Senior next year. I have been extremely happy with the education and the student life at Boone.
They focus more on the small stuff & not whats important to a childs future. 2nd kid to go thru Boone's BS.
its pretty good. nothing really wrong with it.
