Needs to care more
My son is in 1st grade and has special needs that have not been followed per his IEP guidelines. This is the second year in a row that his has happened and I didn't find out until school was almost out. At a recent meeting, I was told my child would have to repeat 1st grade, although his last report card did not indicate he was behind and I was never told he was this far behind. Had I been told, I would have gotten him a tutor to assist in getting him up to par. His teacher's defense was that he is only one student and he/she doesn't have the time to give to him. The school receives extra money for my child's disability, so they should utilize it to get her help if she is overwhelmed!
It is my goal to get him out of this school and into a school with a smaller classroom size and more experienced/caring teachers.
