Cypress Run Alternative/Ese School Reviews
District not meeting the needs of Alternative School Students
Cypress Run Alternative School is not meeting the needs of the its students. These students failed at their homes schools due to behavioral issues, emotional problems, drug use, low self esteem and usually have very little interest in school. Usually these students are at least 2-3 years behind academically sometimes more. These students need different options than the college bound students. We need to at least attempt to ignite their interest in learning through an alternate process. Its a shame that Broward County Schools refuses to recognize that these kids need to learn through more of a "hands on learning environment." We literally hold them in school until they're old enough to dropout. Many of our middle school students are 16 and 17. The majority never make it to high school and those that do usually never make graduation. Its time for the Broward County School Board to wake up, change the rules for these kids and start giving them some hope for their future.
