torilivingston: Midway is FANTASTIC!!  My son came from a private preschool and I was very concerned about his continual education development with a public school.  Being a full charter school, Midway School of the Arts provides resources and experiences that no other elementary school in Seminole County provides.
My son experiences the arts on every level.  At the KG level, he has experience strings in the music department.  The school provides a harp for each child; they have the chelo and violins, in addition to your regular musical instruments (percussion, woodwinds, brass).
The school has a full Mac lab for the students computer development.  They provide access to a virtual math and reading comprehension program that kids can access at home.  The school has so much to offer dance, ballet, a full drama department for school plays, and a complete green room for media!!!  You have to see it to believe it.  They students actually have the opportunity to be news anchors for the school news and its done in a news room...with the weather also!!  It's shown in each classroom over the media outlets.  ITS PHENOMENAL!!!  These are just a few of the many glowing attributes that Midway School of the Arts has to offer!!

torilivingston: We love Midway School of the Arts!!  The school is beautiful to say the least.  They are open and welcome parental participation and assistance in the classroom.  The have a fully functional and incorporated Mac lab that is open to all students.  The music department is open to all students.  Kindergarteners have the opportunity to experience all musical instruments and choose an instrument by 2nd/3rd grade that they want to play.  They offer enough instruments for all kids - chellos, flutes, violins, keyboards, you name it!!  The administrative staff has been professional and helpful.  My son had one teacher in summer camp and she was GREAT!!

This is a beautiful new school, but academically they seriously lack behind.  The teachers are unprofessional and the drama program and much of the music program is only for 5th graders - which they fail to tell you in the initial school tour.  Be careful if you apply to this school via the magnet program as you will not be able to transfer out for a year.  We were VERY disappointed with this school.
