Alonso High School Reviews
I don't go to Alonso , but i am starting this year . I will be a junior . I just moved to Tampa and i dont know anybody who goes there . I would like to make a few friends before getting there . It's July right now and school starts it August (i assume) . If any parents would like to mention this to their child that will be attending that school this year , PLEASE ask them to look me up on Facebook or send me an email .. I'm new to the area and i have really bad anxiety , and i havent even started school yet . So please , ask your kids to think about it . Thank you all so much .
I am a 2007 alumni student and I can honestly say that the teachers and administrators did their best to help me succeed. I transferred to Alonso at the start of my senior year and I had already been behind in credits. I can say they worked with me and helped me catch back up with my credits and raise my GPA. Its thanks to the faculty and staff that I was able to graduate.
Alonso is a very good school in my opinion , the teachers seem very good as my daughter would say they are "totally amazing" . My daughter has other friends who go to other schools and when they talk about school I notice tht Alonso doesn't have nearly rules as the other schools but I think that's because the students are well behaved at alonso. the teachers seem extremely laid back but still are great teachers , my sins graduated from there in 08' and he had one teacher that never assigned tests or many assignments and all they did in the class was discuss things dealing with the subject and the passig rate on the exam was very very high. I would very strongly reccomend sending your child too Alonso , not only will they have a great time but they will also get a superb education .
Apparently the parents are as laid back as the teachers and need to sit up and face the facts: It did NOT meet minimum state requirements. Put another way, it is sub-par.
my child loves it at alonso all her teachers are "amazing" she says. she says they are all very cool and layed back but still great teachers. i would sugest sending your child to alosno...also there is a TON of school spirit.
Very, very large school, but has well trained and caring teachers and staff.
The student demographics have changed a lot since my first child attended in 2006. I feel that my children are getting a good education at Alonso. I am a very involved parent, which is key.
Very safe environment/quality instruction/lots of opportunity for parent and student envolvement.
