Forest Hills Elementary School Reviews
I attended Forest Hills from kindergarten in the 2003-2004 school year and remained there until I graduated as a fifth grader. I am currently a 10th grader who attends Hillsborough High School and is enrolled in Magnet IB program and received a 4-year scholarship from Education Foundation in 8th grade while attending at Adams Middle School- the Middle School right besides Forest Hills. I also have a little brother who already graduated Forest Hills and is currently a 7th grader at Adams while my little sister is a current 2nd grader at Forest Hills, enrolled in the gifted program. My years at Forest Hills have truly been the greatest of my life so far, I've never had a better friend or a happier time than the time I spent there. I always think back on it and wish I would've known how quickly my joy would become extinguished. I was one of the 2 who received the Brave of the Year in my friend grade year, one boy, I being the girl. Of course, I am sad to say that while I have witnessed some of my fellow Forest Hills companions turn out to be very successful students, I have also observed many go astray due to poor decision making and lack of ambition. I believe that any student can go very far no matter where they start, and it is in their actions and their choices that their future and character are forged from- not the type of school they go to.
It's only good for kids who do not have an IEP or section 504 plan. Some teachers are professional and friendly.
The principal is the only person that dresses like a professional. Most of the teachers dress like if they work for a yard cleaning service co. Most of the teachers stay for one to two years. They don't check homework, I've seen some teachers texting and talking on cell phones during class time. Some teachers lack knowledge in what they teach. I think this school is among the worst in this county.
Forest Hills was the best few years of my life. It was a great school, I love how they breakfast and how it was like "outside" to get from room to room. I went there from Kindergarden to third grade, then I moved. The teachers were really nice and I loved the set up they had. I miss my old school, so many memories were made there.
I think the safety could be much better in Forest Hills Elementary school especially during morning and after school hours.
I think Forest Hills Elementary could improve on many things. My child went to Bay Crest last year and it was much better. There are bullies that continue to harass my niece and only get '' a talking too'' and they require uniform on picture day which is ridiculous! Not to mention they failed 2009 yearly progress.
