Forest Trail Academy Reviews
Good, and challenging
This school is challenging in a good way. You'll learn something, and you'll remember what you've been previously taught... and use the old information with new information. There are some things here and there that take up time, but it's schooling so what do you expect.. The teachers check up on the students and always offer help. It's not too much work .. it's no more than I had to do in a regular school.
Excellent staff and teachers
I strongly disagree with a few comments posted above. My experience has been nothing but exceptional with Forest Trail academy. Their teachers were excellent and dedicated. Each time my son had a question, they not only answered it, but also provided extra materials in form of videos, and presentations to further clarify the topic.
I’m sure that there would surely have been some communication gap because of which they had bad experience. I'm equally sure that even today if they approach the school administration, their problems would be resolved in a jiffy
Awesome alternative to homeschooling
We are on our 3rd year of Forest Trail and we could not be happier! My children are student athletes and not only is the college prep curriculum challenging, it is able to be done at the child's pace and it allows them to participate in their extracurricular activities without worrying about missing lessons.
Not organized and terrible staff
We had so many issues with the staff and their poor communication. Not ONCE did a counselor get back to us. One time, my daughter emailed out a concern she had to technical support and student services. Technical support answered telling her to basically not bother them, because she was slowing them down with something that didn't concern them. 90% of the staff and administration were either rude or not helpful at all, including one of my daughter's teachers. It was like she was having a bad year and taking it out on her. I'm not basing this on my own thoughts about my daughter, but rather how well she did in all the other classes and the positive feedback.
Don't waste your time or money on this on-line school. It's terrible.
Not worth all the money
Reading the other review I had all the same concerns. The work load was large and excessive especially in world history. The teacher didnt seem to care. They call to check in but they don't actually solve any problems. They need to make some changes. I wouldn't recommend this school. Your child is so much better off in a regular school.
Level of course work is very poor. Geometry was too basic with insufficient course work. World History was extremely time consuming. The busy work was excessive. The required reading and writing was far, far, far above highschool level. I tried to discuss this issue with the teacher and the main office. No one gave me an adequate answer to my concerns. No one was interested in listening to me or working with me. I felt extremely frustrated and ignored. My child has returned to a private school. I would never recommend on-line high school, and especially would not recommend Forest Trail Academy.
