What is it?

The FCAT is an annual test used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.

Which Grades and Subjects?

Students are assessed in grades 3 through 10 in reading and math, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in science, and in grades 4, 8, and 10 in writing.

How is it Scored?

Students score at one of five levels, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. The goal is for all students to score at or above level 3 (grade level).

Dr. John Long Middle School

Jeanne Forsythe: Dr. John Long Middle School has a wonderful staff and excellent teachers. The school works with the parent whenever concerns are brought up. The parents are well informed and the ability to check online with grades or missed assignments is top notch.

The counselors are also wonderful and I am happy my son attends DJL. I wish the cursing among students could be reduced but I understand this is a problem with this age group period.
