ANCS has had its bumps in the road.  The quality of education your child gets here is amazing.  The students consistently test 1 - 2 grades above average on the Stanford 10 test, which analyzes critical thinking skills as well as academic skills.   The experiential learning, the exposure to downtown field trips and daily Spanish, thrice weekly music and twice weekly art, has as much to do with the academic performance as the dedication and commitment of the teachers.   The environment is nurturing.  But as with most small schools, orgainzationally it has struggled with the right business model to match the educational model.  This is definitely a school for parents who like to be involved and who like to make a difference, and who are looking for an excellent educational standard.

Atlanta New Century School is awesome.  The teachers are wonderful.  My son began kindergarten after the school term began.  The teachers made sure he was given the loving attention he needed to quickly catch up on the work he missed.  He caught up without feeling rushed or pressured and excelled beyond their expectations.  He is now in the first grade, his teachers are super supportive, make learning fun, and this year is off to a fantastic start.

"They have a newly built building which is absolutely gorgeous and very well laid out. In general the staff is caring, but firm. Only bad thing is that parent involvement is not encouraged. Yet!!"
