About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. See Charles R. Drew Charter School's test results to learn more about school performance.

Charles R. Drew Charter School Reviews
My son 's first year at this school will be this year. Have only heard great things from parents in my neighborhood. Super excited.
My daughter is attending Drew Charter School 6th to 8th grade. This school is wonderful. I appreciate each and every one of her teachers. I can only hope and pray her high school years are wonderful. Come on now, what school offers swimming and golf?
Charles R. Drew is a great school. Mrs. Cone and Mrs. Whittaker are the best teachers at the school. I absolutely love the entire staff. I love the fact that school is in operation from 8am to 4pm. After speaking to different parents and hearing their complaints about their child's school, I was glad to say I have no complaints about my daughter's school. They have a wonderful after school program at a very reasonable price. There was not one time I picked my daughter up and she was ready to leave. She participated in Karate, cooking, art, puppetry, and jewelry making, just to name a few. Every Tuesday and Thursday was strictly academic work in after school. I love this school.
This is an absolutely amazing school. The new principal (Mr. Don Doran) and the administration have worked together to make Drew one of the best education options in the city. The parents are super involved and the teachers are very engaged. I love getting the monthly newsletter from my son's teacher. As a parent I can't think of a better place for my son.
