Grady High School Reviews
Marijuana continues to be very popular but not buying it has never resulted in any kind of violence as far as I am aware.
I think the kids at Grady have the opportunity to get a good education but they need to be proactive to get the best resources such as AP courses.
The teachers strike me as being ready to meet the kids where they are and help take them as far as they want to go. They are not going to beg the kids to learn and I think that is fair enough at this age and stage.
i totally agree with yvette white assessment of the aps school system and grady high, it is one of the best in atlanta but you do have to do some prodding or your child may fall though the gaps, in some cases, if you don't represent for your child, the school will treat your child as another child they get paid for to keep doing the day, i know it can be hard on parents and teacher, but some of the admin and teachers seem to be burned out or just doing enough to get by, it seems to be a normal way of functioning for some at the school,
Grady High school is the lesser of "two" evils. The APS system is a sham. Out of all the bad schools in this system, Grady is one of the better ones. Atleast with some prodding, the teachers and administrators respond.
Nonsense! My daughter went to and graduated from Grady High School, and it is a very safety conscious school! You learn to get along with many different types of people; it creates character. Perhaps your son needs to learn how to choose the right kinds of folks to hang with.
ugh Grady is not a bad school it is very good actually it is my second year there and i had learned so much and not just as in educational wise. I have never been picked on, threatened or any of the above. my mind is constantly challenged and the teachers are very positive and encouraging! maybe your child was just hanging with the wrong crowd which is something that all schools have, even the sheltered private school he came from. thanks
Dear fellow parents,
My son had attended a local private school (Paideia) for about 4 years when we decided the budget said it was time to try a public school. We were wrong. At this school being a... freshman of only five foot six my son was picked on and made immediate enemies with three different gangs of boys by refusing to buy weed. He was also threatened twice in his first three and a half weeks to be in a knife fight with some of the other hoodlum attendees. We had to pull him out after that. This is a unsafe school...
