Established in 1972, Mount Vernon Presbyterian School, serves students in Preschool through Grade 12. Located on 37 acres in the heart of Sandy Springs. Demonstrating the School's commitment to inquiry, the Upper School offers a dynamic opportunity unique to Atlanta independent schools called Interim Term. Students travel through cultural arts trips, national college tours, mission trips, as well as participate in internships. With innovation at the forefront, Mount Vernon's Center for Design Thinking teaches students to identify real world issues, collaborate through research, test their results, and produce prototypes to impact the community. This innovative program is the only one of its kind among Atlanta independent schools, and is based on a model developed by Stanford University's Design School. Having an impact throughout the Atlanta area, each year MVPS students perform more than 10,000 hours of community service.
