Gwyneth: My daughter attended this school for 4 years and did not enjoy it. She was the only African- American young lady in the whole grade throughout her three years there. She said she often felt rejected because there wasn't anyone to relate to or anyone that looked like her. Students would use racial slurs around her and it would get so serious that I unfortunately had to notify administrators and contact the Archdiocese of Atlanta about the matter. Students would act very ignorant and ask her if she had Kool- Aid at our home or ate a lot of watermelon, which are both racial stereotypes. From an educational standpoint, she did very well, but did not have a good social experience. St. Jude School definitely needs to teach their students how to be respectful and expose them to different types of people. If anyone asked me, I would not send another one of my children to this school.
