I also had the pleasure of attending the southside performance learning center. Attending school at Southside was the best decision I could of ever made for myself. I never had behavorial problems in school the traditioinal high school setting was just effective. Southside really saved my future! The faculty and Staff showed a genuine concern for all of the students. If I had not attended PLC I would have been a drop out student, but now I am currently attending North Park University in Chicago IL, planning to study abroad in London, England starting next semester for a year! Southside gave me the tools I needed to be great in life.

I went to this school for over two years and it was honestly the only atmosphere that i could learn in. Risley is a very "Do-It-Yourself" oriented School and for some students that is the best way to learn. I might add that another way to qualify for this type of schooling is not having enough credits, not always potential dropouts, etc. I had no intentions of dropping out, i just simply did not have the credits. You will find that there are many students who want to finish school but are discouraged by the teaching methods at other "normal" high schools and it honestly makes them want to drop out. I would love to see this teaching method everywhere because it is incredibly effective(more percentage of students passed the EOCT's than at other high schools). Plato rocks! :D
