Paulette A. Carter: This is a good school with a terrible principal, she makes poor decisions that impact students. She does not respect the taxpayers or the staff. She should be removed from her role and replaced, the teachers are incredible, they should not report to someone of this calibre.

Chamblee is a great school whose students are very well prepared for college by any measure. Chamblee graduates usually have more National Merit Scholars and National Achievement scholars as a raw number and as a percentage of the senior class than other well-renowned public and private schools in the area. By average SAT scores, Chamblee usually ranks within the top 10 in the state and often in the top 4-6. The magnet program is very good and, if SAT scores are considered for them alone they rank in the top 2-3 schools in the state.
If you want to learn and be well prepared to go to college then Chamblee may be the place for you. Sure, Chamblee has problems just like many other schools and public schools inside the perimeter, but Chamblee is largely a little-acknowledged gem in the close-in metro Atlanta area. Do your homework and compare Chamblee scores to any other school you are considering. Stop by the office and read the Charter report, which is produced annually. I've had three children attend the school and would not hesitate to recommend it. Parents must pay attention and stay involved because there are some teachers that you may want to avoid based on your childs learning style and makeup.

Students basically teach themselves. Few unprofessional teachers. Administration needs some work.
