McNair Middle School
: My son attends this school. I also attended here long ago, and it was the best place on earth when I was there. Some parents have put the Rumor out that this is a bad school, or even the worst. I DISAGREE. It's not the school. I don't think the problem at this school should fall solely on the teacher's and staff, but that the parents play the biggest roles in the success of this school. How can the teachers teach the studens if they spend majority of their time trying to discipline them? There's only so much that teachers and administrators can do to, and with, "our kids". It begins at home. I've actually had the opportunity to have some One on One conversations with some of the students here. It was unbelievable the stories I've heard about what they've been through as young adolescents. They're coming from bad places, bad homes, bad parenting, or all I just mentioned. Some girls under 13 who've already lost their virginity, and some to older- grown men! Some boys and girls who've ran away from home or have been running the streets, wanting to be grown-ups prematurely. Is this McNairs fault? NO, absolutely not, but if you mix that group in with the average kids....then you get the trouble. There's a problem but who's trying to fix it? who's supposed to be? I see the school's staff trying to fix it, ALL DAY LONG! The school has potiential to be great. My son's a great kid (11 yrs old) and I've taught him what's right from wrong so that as soon as he when he walks through the school doors, he understands his purpose for being there. School's not a playground and teachers are Not baby-sitters. I think there are some really good teachers at this school as well as the principal and the assistants principals. There are posivitive male role models here and many kids who don't have a father at home really need this, such as my own son. When I attend the PTSA meetings, the "problem" children's parents aren't there. The school can only help the one's who need help and want it, but they can't be the DFACS office and educators at the same time. McNair Middle School is a decent school and if you're willing to do your part, the faculty and staff are more than willing to do theirs. We should work together to make this place what it used to be and exactly what it should be, just like The school moto: REACH FOR THE STARS!! and Let's kill the awful rumors.

I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT.THE SCHOOL IS RAN LIKE A CIRCUS AND THE STUFF SEEM TO HAVE NO CONTROL.THE TEACHER'S SEEM LIKE THEY DON'T EVEN LIKE CHILDREN.EVERY MORNING WHEN I DROP MY CHILD OFF I'M FEARFUL THAT SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HIM AND WHEN MY CONCERN'S WERE BROUGHT TO TO ATTENTION OF THE PEOPLE IN CHARGE THEY HAD NO ANSWERS AND DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE.ALL OF MY NEIGHBOR'S HAVE PULLED THERE KIDS OR ARE SWEARING NOT TO LET THEM RETURN FOR THE 09-10 SCHOOL YEAR. SOME HAVE EVEN OPTED TO HOME SCHOOL!!!! IF YOU CARE ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S EDUCATION,PLEASE DON'T SEND THEM TO THIS SCHOOL!!!!(CHECK OUT THE FACT'S ON THIS SCHOOL)YOU WOULD BE SETTING YOUR CHILD UP FOR FAILURE.
