Overall this is an excellent school to send your child to. I have been an Abney parent for 8 years and still have a few to go. I've been through 2 Principals and 5 VP's. Things have changed alot from our first year until now. Some good and some disappointing. The teachers are fabulous. I think we've had 12 different teachers and I would say all but two of them were amazing. The two I wasn't wild about both left or were transferred the year after we had them. The specials staff are awesome. The Music and Art teachers are so gifted, the PE teachers are fun and the Media specialist and her assistant are wonderful. Even the janitorial staff is great. We are moving to a brand new building as we speak and it's beautiful. There is quite a bit of parent involvement, no athletics at the elementary level in our county. The only after school activity that I know of at this time is Chorus. Abney is considered one of the best elementary schools in Paulding County.
