The most challenging problem is the student population. The school has an IB program that could be the best thing that every happened in Douglas County, however, they attend school in an intimidating environment. Some teachers are very strict, often mean. I think this is because of the challenging physical environment and the need to appear tough in front of some pretty rough kids. Unfortunatley, this does nothing for the students who are there to succeed. My daughter feels intimadated by some teachers to the point of being afraid to ask a question because of their responses to other children.
I believe they should move the IB program away from this school. It would benefit the teachers and students by providing the open collaboration needed for the success of the students in the program.

SOME of the teachers are wonderful, but many of the administrators are on a power trip and are VERY unethical and it's supported by the school board.
