My child, a DHS senior, just received early admission to The University of Georgia and has had numerous other acceptances from quality universities.  One (FSU) even included an automatic admission to their honors college, which she didn't even apply for.  In the meantime, she has many private school friends who were waitlisted at UGA and other good schools.  There is an excellent education to be had at DHS, they just need to do a better job getting the word out and allaying parental fears associated with public schools.  My daughter has had a great time, been challenged, had excellent teachers, gotten a great education, and the results speak for themselves.

Dunwoody has been absolutely fabulous.  The vast majority of my teachers have been amazing, preparing me for my AP exams and, now, writing my teach recs for college applications.  Drugs are not as prominent as other reviewers would have you believe; yes, kids do drugs, this is suburbia -but it's not a defining factor.  I've really enjoyed my time here and know that it will leave me well-prepared for whatever school I choose to go to.

Dunwoody isn't that bad of a school. Sure kids do drugs, but its overall a fine place to go to school. I would never want to go to private school because the teachers bring character, and its diverse. The students are original and everyone is different, which is great.

When I started going here my grades dropped almost imidietly from an A avarage to a C average. Don't send your child here

Fernando: The teachers know the kids that are doing drugs but do nothing about it. I had to take my son out of the 9th grade after two months. The place is more like a prison than a school.  The teachers look and act like a bunch of hippies from the 60s.

Richard Wicox: I had to put my kids in private schools. The place has more crime and drugs than a prison.  My son got everything ripped off in his first year so we put him in Mt. Bethel.

...They need to do a random drug test on all the teachers... Please have the PTA drug test the teachers.

If you care about your child's eduction & their future, DO NOT allow him/her to attend DHS. They fail at every level. Drugs & crime is rampant. The teachers & staff are criminals & thugs and they treat the children like criminals as well. The school atmosphere is much closer to a prison than an educational facility. Just about anything is better than this.
