Faith Middle School is located in Ft. Benning, GA. It is a private school that serves 475 students in grades 6-8. Faith Middle School is coed (school has male and female students) and is nonsectarian in orientation. The school belongs to the Other school association(s).
I am an eighth grader 20 days from finally graduating this school, and I am currently in the gifted program and have never failed to achieve making the honor roll. I have been enrolled in Faith since the first day of school in sixth grade, and I couldn't stand it. For a student with above average intelligence, the regular classes they put us in is almost an insult. The work teachers say will take us the whole period only takes about ten or fifteen minutes. Most of the students attending the school don't care about academics and run around the halls amok. There are fights nearly everyday, and there has been marijuana in the school as well.
The buses are a horrible example of transportation for schools. Most of the bus drivers have less than average driving skills (I have seen my bus driver almost get T-bones twice, and not pull over for an ambulance with its sirens on.) The students are even worse: there are extremely large amounts of foul language and explicit conversations. That is not the kind of thing they should get away with, but they do (yet they've been reprimanded for jokingly calling friends "lame.")
And finally, the dress codes. Most students don't appreciate the dress codes, and I certainly don't either. While there should be a few limits (no halter tops, daisy dukes, etc.) I think the uniforms push it a bit too far. They're uncomfortable, awkward, and some rules don't even make any sense (students cannot wear socks unless they are solid white or black. Seriously, why?) And while teachers say it cuts down on teasing, it only builds it up. For those children who are... let's say "undeveloped," the uniforms only accentuate it. Popularity for girls is based on how curvy one is in the school, and those you are late bloomers can usually be seen alone.
In short, I wouldn't recommend this school to any parents who have children with above-average intelligence and would like a place where they can really shine and not be bored out of their mind.
