Barnes Academy Reviews
Barnes Academy is a wonderful place to send your child. I have 4 children who have all attended the academy. Two of my children, who have graduated, have done well in college. My other two are still at Barnes and they love it! I could not even imagine where my boys would be without the positive Christian influence this school has had on them. I know that tuition is high, but the payback is well worth it! Thank you staff and administration for a job well done!
I have read good and bad.. Bottem line.. Not crowded,no bullying allowed... Good and loving teachers that have a personal relationship with my children!!! It is based on Christian values and I glad to have this kind of influence on my children!! The rules are not the same but fact is public school has turned into a political playground and most of the teachers just there for a check! So happyy kids have Barnes!!!
I think Barnes Academy is a great school. They have hired certified teachers this year. And all the students are on a public school level. I would definitely recommend to other parents.
Barnes Academy is not as amazing as the admin. leads you to believe.
I attended Barnes Academy for several years and not only were most of the teachers uncertified, but they simply did not teach us anything. There is tons of bullying and the principal will not suspend students because then there would be no money. I can honestly say that Barnes Academy did NOT prepare me for college or a successful future and looking back on it now, I would have chosen to remain in public school.
very poor school, not a school a money pit
My child attended the Barnes academy for 2 years in the 5th and 6th grade. We found all they are after is the money. Your grade was decided on how much money you donate above the tuition. The administration and principal is a joke. I understand the principal was run off from public school. Bullying is a serious problem. My child was on the honor role every nine weeks but after going to public found she was doing 3rd grade level work and had to be put in a special program just to be brought up to grade level. I was told by the administrator all the teachers were public school certified and found only about 3 were qualified and rest were working just pay there childs tuition. I later found the health department had to close the lunchroom down and now bringing in food from local restaurants. I do wish Hart Co. had a competent Christian school.
I think Barnes Academy is a great school. They have intelligent and loving teachers who are great at what they do. They care for their students, and do what's best for the students. The students ourselves though, have to do our part. It's the perfect school for good students, but the worst school for bad students. Believe me, the teachers do their part, but you know what they say, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it.", and I've seen many horses who thirst, and others who refuse to drink.
Sorry down below there were stars marked as 3. 0 is the way I truly rate this school. My mistake.
I think this school is in dire need of a overhaul. Starting with the administration. They can not and obviously will not control the children they have there. Each and every parent pays $500.00 a month to send their child to school there. There is more bullying going on at this school than most public schools. That's really sad. Hopefully this school will sit back and look at all the issues they have going on there and fix them.
I love Barnes Academy. The teachers are sincere and want to see the children do well in their education, as well as, their self esteem. My child left the High School with all F's and went to all A's at Barnes, and her self esteem is a lot better. The only complaint I have is the price. It is too expensive, I hope I can keep her in there, but finances are rough right now. Otherwise, it's a great school.
Barnes Academy is a breath of fresh air in Hartwell. Our daughter has excelled in every way since transferring to Barnes. Her grades have gone from straight F's to A-B Honor Role but most importantly her self esteem now soars. She is hugged and told "I love you" by her teachers on a daily basis. She is respected by her teachers and therefore respects them. In public school she was constantly ridiculed by her teachers and the only attention she received was negative, except for a very few teachers who realized her potential. It may not be their fault but it is truly a shame that the kids are so ill prepared for further education and life in Hart county. And yes they do have prayer and they say the Pledge of Allegiance. God Bless America!
My child attended this school for a short time (one school year). I found many things misleading about the accreditations and the qualifications of the faculty. I guess most people are trusting and do not question. I was shocked when I found that the accreditation was NOT as it was explained to me, nor were the majority of the faculty at that time even college educated. I would not recommend this school.
I agree with the comment below. My child attended for one year, and only stuck that out as a lesson in commitment. The goals stated by the administration will never be reached. I do not recommend this school to anyone.
As you can see from the comments bellow, the only people who would believe this "school" is anything short of a reform school are in dire need of an education themselves. Although their intentions are honorable, this administration clearly lacks the intellect and ability to reach their goals. A couple of children have done very well having graduated from here, however those are the ones that are bright enough on their own, that they could have made it anywhere. Most others WILL fail.
i think barnes academy is an adequete school for young and old children. barnes academy class rooms are not as crowded as a public school.
i think that Barnes Academy is a wonderful school the administrators there are a great role model for the children af hartwell i recomend this school for anyone who want their children to be pushed to do there best!! it gets 5 stars from me
