Taylors Creek Elementary School Reviews
I have both good and bad things to say about this school. First the good, in Liberty County it is the best school overall. The test scores are the highest in the county which I love. They offer bus service even though we don't live too far from the school. The office staff, very nice & helpful. This school ALWAYS have tons of activities through out the year, which makes it fun the kids, they look forward to it. Kindergarten, this is my daughter's 1st year at Taylors Creek, at first I wasn't too keen with her going there because of the 5th grade teachers from last yr (my son attended as well) but I gave it a try. I had an issue with their grading system and asked to speak to teacher immediately. She made time for a conference and addressed my concerns. After the conference, I was very confident in the school and how my child is progressing. Her teacher is the only one I can speak for, she LOVES her students as if they were her own. I feel safe knowing that my child is protected and learning. She loves going to school. Now the bad, my son attended the school last year, we just moved here from NC where he was in advanced classes. The school had to retest him as he classes didn't transfer to the state. He had an issue with being bullied as he was the "new kid" and military, he had trouble the first couple weeks adjusting and fitting in, I wasn't notified until the day my son stood up for himself. That was a major concern for me. The 5th grade teachers allowed things to happen and once it got beyond their control they notified the parents, which is unacceptable. After several meetings with the teachers and the vice principal, things got taken care of and we had no issues with the school since. If we are still here by the time my 5yr old goes to 5th grade, I am not sure if she will attend this school, if its the same 5 teachers teaching 5th grade, chances are she will be homeschooled.I don't think the teachers who teach the 5th grade classes are equipped to handle the bigger kids. Overall, the school isn't terrible. I have heard worse about the neighboring schools in the area.
