I attended this school for 10 years, so I know a little more about it... I've had my ups and downs with this school. So, let me break down MPCS for you...

Elementary school
Great education, great teachers! Definitely well defined elementary education program...the only complaint is the playground.

Middle school
Great teachers aside from a few, but the curriculum is great. Definitely a better middle school experience promised than other experiences at other schools.

High school
Teachers are either extraordinary or horrible. You will see this for example in the history department, with two incredible teachers and the three or so horrible ones. The quality of the curriculum varies depending upon which teacher is teaching the subject at hand.

Spiritual Life
A JOKE! The retreat offered in the high school and the opportunities for younger children are actually pretty good, however the chapels and outrageous attempts by the school's spiritual life director are absolutely pathetic.

Is the money worth the benefits? I think, honestly, yes. Only because the teachers I had in middle school and elementary school and the few great ones in high school taught me not only about their specific subject but also how to abide by God's word and teach it to others.
What you'll find here where you can't find anywhere else is PROOF OF WHY ONE SHOULD BE A CHRISTIAN. If you want your children to have a remote understanding of why they are a Christian, MPCS won't just tell you to have faith, but why scientifically, logically, why you should.
As far as the racial discrimination goes, people, think about it. You go to a private school in Kennesaw, GA...in the South. It's not racism, it's social location. Simple as that.

Eric Duncan: Exceeds expectations. Our family has been blown away with all aspects of this school. From the leadership on down to the teachers and para-pros this institution exemplifies Christ-centered academic excellence. We are truly thankful to be a part of this institution.

Looks good on the outside, but please do your research before sending your child there. From my personal experience, it is not what it seems to be. They are not exhibiting "Christian" like behavior and are discriminatory in enrolling students. Beware

This is a great school, if you are a Caucasian student. But if you are a person of color, this is not the school for you. There is an overall dislike for diversity and in a christian environment, this is shocking! If you are a person of color, you will be shunned and ridiculed. Mount Paran supports a culture of racial intolerance and has some serious social issues and ideological problems that need to be addressed. I do not recommend it for any child, because this school does not teach the principles of Christ, which is to love all children, despite race, creed or color.

I feel that this school is just a bragging right. It does have a good curriculum up until high school, but many enroll here only because they are zoned for a worse public school. There are many Cobb County schools in the surrounding area that compare or exceed the curriculum, parent/teacher involvement, and great enrichment environment. I pulled my child out after two years as the academics were not worth the finicial burden to go here. Also, I found out very quickly how the rest of the world views this school once we were out...arrogant. Yes, it is a Christian based school, but many that send their children there are just that and it is all about the money. We are now at Kemp Elementary and would recommend this school to anyone. It is a Georgia School of Excellence and continues to win awards. The school community is a fresh of breath air...nice, loving, family-oriented, superior parent involvment, caring teachers...all without the pompous clout of the $12,000 a year price tag.

I loved Mt. Paran! The teachers are great, the campus is BEAUTIFUL and it has a nice atmosphere. Its a small school with about 80 people in each graduating class, but i consider that a good thing because i knew everyone in the high school. There is a problem with cliques but everyone i knew had at least a few close friends even if they didn't exactly fit in.

The school has great teachers and offers a lot of educational benefits and opportunities. Dr. Tilley, the headmaster is a very kind and humble man. The campus is always well-kept and clean.
The only cons is that there is a lot of "cliques" and within the student body. Also, the high school bible teacher, Joe Mulvihill is a joke. He consistently makes fun of other teachers and students in the middle of class. He is very knowledgeable when it comes to defending and supporting Christianity but he is certainly not a moral example of how a Christian should act.

I have two children at MPCS. We have been very pleased with the school. The campus is beautiful, the curriculum is excellent and the teachers really care about the students.
