Birmingham Falls Elementary School Reviews
Excellent School - Don't Blame Admin for Fulton Co Actions
BFES is an outstanding school. It appears that some do not understand that Fulton County - not the admin at our local school - dictates how and when new teachers are added as well as how our administration is to address questions about this process. Fortunately, BFES is on the path to charter designation, meaning more autonomy over these types of decisions that so directly impact our families and students. After several years of turnover in the administration of this very new school, we finally have the right leadership in place. Our Principal, AP, teachers and staff are top-notch - well-respected educators who have hearts for children. We LOVE this school and recommend it highly!
School was ill-equipped to handle increase in 1st grade enrollment in 2013; their solution was to create one extra large overflow class and assign a temporary teacher to preside over that class. As a result, there have been huge discipline problems in that class and they are a month behind all of the other classes The administration has been completely unresponsive to addressing the issues I guess i shouldn't be surprised. As a government school, there is no accountability and no consequences for this type of behavior. It's shameful, but not unusual.
Update: A permanent teacher was assigned on Monday 9/2, but this is her very first permanent assignment. During the sneak peak parents night on Thursday, it was clear that the new teacher was completely unfamiliar with the curriculum. God help these children.
