Alex Burden: I would like to say that in the beginning I thought Summerour Middle School was a great school until I had one problem after another. When your little girl is poke on her backside and no actions are taken, bullied and personal items destroyed and a principle and assistant principle that are not professional as their degrees state are. Make you wonder if they got them online!! All I am saying is that as a concern parent that I cared enough about my child's safety and education that I moved away so that my child was out of the school's district and could go to a school that was a safer place to attend!!!

Katherine Butler: School year 2009 - 2010 has been a wonderful, pleasant experience. I have to contribute that to the new administration that has been implemented from the top to the front receptionist that signs in students and greets the parents. It has a been a refreshing change.
The first impressions of Summerour Middle School has changed from that of a institution housing minorities, but that of a safe haven in which students and their families are welcomed to enter the doors and is greeted with friendly smiles and a warm voice.
Hats Off to the new Principle!!! Her door has always been open to the parents since day one, she listens to what the students needs and not so much to what the teachers need.
I've notice a 100% change in the atmosphere when you enter the front door. The office personnel is willing, open and now receptive to the parents when they enter with a concern about their children.
My daughter will be graduating this year 2010 and off to high school. Summerour made sure that my daughter will be ready for the new world of high school and pushed her to look beyond to college.
I'm a proud parent of Summerour Middle School 2009-2010.
