Sparkle Smith: To provide a recent update for parents like myself, who appreciates parent reviews on schools that I know little about....overall I love the school! The campus is clean,the building is up to date and provides comfortable space for all that attend (no tacky school trailers to make up for much needed space for students).The quality of education is exceptional, the staff are professional & helpful and the PTA is strong and supportive of their kids, the school, &community. My two kids that currently attend, have motivation....not only to learn but to succeed in both educational & physical activities. This school has provided challenges and high expectations that my kids struggled with in the beginning as transfer students (coming from a horrible public school) , but once they were allowed time & support to adapt, they performed wonderfully. My kindergartener is able to read her bedtime stories to me now! I look forward to continued progress...on another note, everything good still isn't perfect...the school has changed principals, Mr. Tanner is no longer there. Although, I did get a chance to meet him and experience his leadership upon my kids transfer prior to his retirement. He appeared to be a strong principal, and I had heard great things about him. Dr. Jackson replaces him & although as the new principal I feel he has already dropped the ball on a few issuses into his 1st term, I'm confident that with time he will be able to continue to uphold the expectations of this school and create his own legacy outside of Mr.Tanner's. And with every bunch of good apples, some sour apples still exist, I have come to find some teachers that just aren't as involved as the others. They don't appear to be horrible teachers but if I had a choice prior to knowing them I wouldn't have chosen them as my kids teacher. But as an involved parent it was up to me to insure that my kid received the best possible educational experience through numerous follow ups to, parent teacher conferences, and even principal meetings if it came to it. So just be aware, if you get a "not so involved" teacher just be prepared to 'go to bat' for your kid. Conclusively, I still rate this school highly, just a few wrinkles that need ironing out, hope this helps a parent out there :)
