Le Jardin Academy

I could not agree more with the above reviewer.  I also have a masters degree in education and am completely impressed by Le Jardin.  My son is thriving.  He brings conversations home that challenge and enrich our entire family.  
He is inspiring us all to be more thoughtful and conscientious about who we are and how we interact with our world.
Bringing the International Baccalaureate to the school has taken this great school to an even higher purpose.

As a former teacher with a Masters Degree in Education, I take the education of my children very seriously.  When we learned we would be moving to Hawaii from California, my first concern was that of the quality of the public school system in Hawaii.  Unfortunately, my research only confirmed my fears, as I learned that, on average, students attending public schools were 2 years behind those of their counterparts on the mainland.  Considering we have a gifted 3rd Grader and an advanced preschooler, we knew that public school would not be an option.  

We first enrolled at St. Anthony's Catholic School where the quality of academic instruction was standard and the quality of religious instruction was great.  Although our son's First Grade Teacher was fantastic, we were not so lucky with his Second Grade Teacher and it didn't take us long to realize that our son would soon lose interest in education all together if we didn't act quickly.  

This is when we found Le Jardin Academy, a school that I affectionately call "education utopia".  Le Jardin has proven time and time again that they do not just "talk the talk", but they truly "walk the walk" by not only providing exceptional hands-on, motivational and interesting instruction, but also by not accepting "comprehension" of lessons as the measure of success.  Instead, Le Jardin provides a lively, supportive and academic-rich environment that challenges each and every student to not only understand, but to also apply their knowledge and highly developed critical thinking skills within their class, school, community, homes and abroad in real life situations where its possible for them to already begin making a difference and improving the lives of others.  Their early successes build confidence and serve to encourage each student to become a lifelong learner who will continually strive to not only understand their world, but to very thoughtfully and conscientiously make a difference and leave this world a better place than when they arrived.
