My wife and I thought this school was pretty good. Both my kids went here for 4 or 5 years. Don't judge the book by it's cover because the building and grounds are older and have an older look to it. However, the academics and the school itself is pretty good. Not quite the mainland level, but Hawaii is tough to get stellar academics without going private. Note this school is rated better than all the other elementary schools in the Kapolei area.

I am not very happy. No one communicates with me as a parent, who has a special needs child. I need help, but all I get is the run around from everyone. No one seems to know what is going on and that even goes for me, the parent.

I was suprised to find the teachers here to be as good or better than ones we had in one of the best school districts in San Antonio, TX. They have less to work with here, but manage to create a dynamic classroom atmosphere, despite Hawai'is deplorable history of funding public education. It's really sad that Hawaii is so hell-bent on sacrificing their future. As a military family, we feel lucky to have found BPES, but look forward to moving where children are more valued.
