I too moved just to make sure my sons were in Irving...also because one of my kids has disabilities...so far it has been a bad choice...not because of the schooling but because of the bullying that goes on...there is supposed to be no tolerance for bullying and the kid that physically slapped my son had to say sorry!! These kids are also bullying another child with a disability and nothing is being done...i doubt they even told his mother...the kids make sexual gestures and still they do nothing...i guess name calling and teasing is unfortunately a part of every day life...but laying your hand on another person should not be tolerated...whether or not they have a disability! So Irving WAS my first choice of schools.
Crystal Worrell: My son has not attended your school yet, however we have moved to this school district for him due to your wonderful help for struggling students (he has ADHD and a VERY slight speech impediment which I don't bring to his attention. I have been told by several parents that Irving is the school. I also have a second grader that will more than likely be on the other end of the scale, he will likely be in your gifted and talented, which I have also been told that of all the schools in Pocatello you are the best. Tristan Kelly (my middle school child) went to Franklin last year and to be as nice as I can be about their helping him and acknowledging his ADHD well they were pathetic. I am glad for the advice of others in suggesting Irving. Thank you for being the school that you are and actually CARING about the students and not just the upper crest. I rated you on what I have heard from those I spoke to and from what others have told me. Again thank you, too many kids fall through the cracks and I am so grateful that you try very hard not to let this occur.
