B H S is a great school, Mr. Mitchem is an amazing principle and he did a fantastic job with keeping the violence down. The teachers are great as well. They make a good connection with the students, and without that connection... LETS GO RAIDERS!!!!!!

Freshman year - Well the bomb threat on Halloween was a great day.  No school for most of the students and staff since a few students decided to make a threat to blow up the school.  Do not feel like the adminstration did a good job making the school a safe place to get an education.

Sophomore year - Just some fights.

Junior year - School went into lockdown, fights weekly, and a fellow student suggested the school motto be"We take a stab at our education" becuase there were two stabings.  When a few students decided to make teachers with the saying "We take a stab at our education" they were expelled.  This was not an apporiate response and I feel it violates the first amdenment. Also the fire in the mens bathroom in front of the deans office and the intermacy in the bathroom between a male and female student.

Senior year - Just some fights.  Still going though we might live up to our status "We take a stab at education" again.

Overall this school has a poor retake policy that lets students retake tests and homework but still fail.  This school is filled with violence and not a place to get a proper high school education.

P.S. I do not feel that Mr. Mitchum has done enough to fix this school.  Most of the security guards harass students and are not a good influence.

Bolingbrook does not have violence and gang problems!  The school is very safe, and anyone that has spent any time in the school (instead of listening to false rumors) knows that.  The admininstration has made strides on increasing the rigor of the curriculum, and they continue to work towards BHS being a school of excellence.

The school will not ever reach its potential unless the parents and community get involved.  Remember, the school belongs to the community and it is our responsibility to help the faculty and staff.  Let's put our efforts into helping bring about positive change instead of just criticizing off of rumors!

I want all teens to be safe. Bolingbrook seems to have more violence and sexual predators than in years past. I pray my girls are safe.
