Building Blocks Learning Academy Reviews
This is by far one of the best childcare centers in the City of Chicago. Located in Englewood, Building Blocks Learning Academy exceeded my expectations substantially. My son has been a student at BBLA since November of 2013 and I honestly wish I would've placed him in sooner. My child is not only reading and writing at a 2nd grade level, but his speech and pronunciation, his mathematic ability and his overall confidence are above his grade level. Im so blessed to have found this school. Prior to my son attending BBLA he was at another school less than 5 blocks away and the difference in the two schools amazes me. In addition to the curriculum and academics being challenging, the staff and the owner Mrs. Redd-Newell are amazing. You can tell by the love and support that the children are shown that they are really in a place that cares about their education. My son will be graduating from BBLA in June 2015 on his way to a Level 1+ school knowing Spanish, The Pledge of Allegiance, The Constitution, 200+ sight words, knowing how to read and write substantially, knowing how to tell time and count with money. This is a faith based center and God's angels are truly watching over this place.
I was a parent for this daycare for 7 years. My two younger children attended this daycare and it is a diamond in the rough. These children are exposed to music, gym and Spanish. Both of my children attended the full-time kindergarten program they provide and now they are on the honor roll. My daughter was reading at a kindergarten-first grade level at the age of 3.
The owner believes she is not just "administration" when it comes to the daycare, she feels all the children that attend the daycare are hers.
You will not regret putting your children in this daycare. They will be educated and excel in academic excellence when they reach school age. They will be well fed and the teachers will provide you with a professional and excellent service.
I am a grandmother of 2 boys who attend building blocks learning academy. My oldest grandson has been at the school since he was 3 months old and throughout his journey and our journey there, it is amazing to watch him grow and learn. He actually loves going to school because he feels safe and comfortable with (not only) his best friend in the whole wide world but with the staff and others as well (He has earned his nickname at the school as (S. I must admit that last year this time he was struggling but to be honest what child does not, since he has been in Ms. Tesa's class I have seen an amazing turnaround, I am serious he went to not knowing major BASIC things, that every 3-5 year old should know to knowing letters, numbers, words, etc. by sight. I have to take my hat off to this teacher and her leader Ms. Redd. I look forward to see what they will be able to do with my 3 year old grandson! I have volunteered/attended field trips at the school and found it to be interesting, I really have to commend Ms. Redd and the staff because BUILDING BLOCKS LEARNING ACADEMY in ENGLEWOOD is truly a HIDDEN JEWEL.
I would recommend this school for anyone with children.
Building Blocks Learning Academy is the best thing happening in the Englewood Community in Chicago! Ms. Redd and her staff go above and beyond for every child and family there. I have never seen a day care facility that offers Spanish, Music, Computer Learning, Sign Language, and Physical Education!!! Not only that, the students here have a state of the art playground behind the school. My daughter loves Building Blocks and the entire staff! Ms. Redd and her staff find outside resources to make sure that children with Special Needs get the services they need to learn and function as their peers do. This school is turning preschoolers into pre-scholars, graduating kindergarten students who are reading on a third grade level! This state of the art learning academy has adequate space so that students aren't cramped and can sleep/play with no cause for alarm or harm. I highly recommend Building Blocks Learning Academy for your family if you have a child between the ages of 6 weeks - 6 years, and up to age 12 for before/after school care!
this school needs alot of work I am not happy with the teacher there. looking to find a new school for my son. the teacher's in my son's class caged my son in between some book /toy shelves and stacked two sets of stacked chairs so he could not get out. all of this was a nap time now what if those chairs or any thing else fell on to my son?
