Hamilton Elementary School Reviews
We have been so pleased with the quality of teachers and principal as well as administrative staff. This school focuses on the arts: the students enjoy art once a week with a dedicated art teacher and large project room, the multi-cultural teacher once a week has extensive projects that infuse art and culture, full-time music teacher who is young and enthusiastic, and a gym teacher who is very creative in fitness and fun. This family focused school offers family nights such as movie night and weird-science lab. After-school violin lessons and highly rated Lakeview YMCA program are available for additional charge. The school library and story-time is successfully supported by parent volunteers. My child's classroom size is small for CPS standards (18) and my child is being challenged with reading comprehension 1 year ahead of her grade level. The math curriculum is top notch and the same as many well regarded private elementaries. The school also specializes with speech impediments and has additional resources for those students on-site. Check out this little known gem before the word gets out.
