Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School

I am a recent graduate of Mother McAuley, and I can honestly say that I would not have chosen another place to spend those four years. I came to the school knowing only two other girls and within days I felt at home in the hallways of McAuley. One of the benefits of the large size of the school is that there is a guaranteed place for everyone. It's virtually impossible to not find someone who shares similar interests.
My experience with McAuley teachers has been very positive overall. They not only reach out to students academically (they offer to stay late, come in early, give up their open period, or direct you to other resources), but they also genuinely care about their students. They always made an effort to know the students beyond academics. The school administration is very open and willing to listen to the concerns of students. The principal makes an effort to get to know the students, and she often would stop and chat with us.
McAuley has a fully staffed math center, science center, writing center and learning resource center. Teachers are assigned to be there every period of the day. They are a source of homework help or clarification of concepts covered in class. The learning resource center also offers tutoring by staff members and National Honor Society members. The learning resource center is also capable of attending to any of your daughter's special needs.
McAuley also offers a variety of classes for college credit. So much that I was able to enter college with sophomore standing. I feel completely prepared for pursuing a degree in engineering.
There are also tons of opportunities to get involved outside of class and meet more friends. Club meetings and other fun events always kept me busy!
The administration has also been making strides to update the school. We now have smart boards in every classroom and the girls have access to two computer centers either individually or as a whole class.
Most importantly though, my four years at McAuley have left me with confidence in myself and a deeper understanding of who I am. Those four years also left me with an amazing group of girls who have become my support system. This place is more than just an education, it's more than just the athletics, and it's more than the extracurriculars. There is something truly special there. You can go ahead and see for yourself, give your daughter this opportunity, I'm sure you won't regret it.
