Ray Elementary School

Do not let the schools past reputation (years ago) sway you when considering Ray now. It is not the same. The teachers are rude and work extremely hard to imtidate the students. The 4th - 6th grade is out of control. Too many students per class, while I admit it is challenging, but it isn't the students fault about the room size, it is the school system. For the period of time my child was in the school. I was ashamed to see how the students were treated. But you get what you pay for!

My child attended this school for one year and it was full of disappointments.  My child's teacher lacked professionalism, respect for her students and taught by intimidation and manipulation.  More time was spent in class learning about the teacher and her family successes than focusing on lessons and growth of the students.  There is an average of 34 children to a class which includes special need children.   There ISAT scores had decreased and they are a level 2 school for several years now. At one time this school was considered great, by that was many years ago.  Leadership is an issue now.  Please do your homework before enrolling your child at this school, and if you don't have options, stay very involved and learn about your child's teaching style and philosphy.  Most important talk to your child about the experiences they have at the school.  Needless to say, after 4 months in the school, I knew that my child would not be there for the next year.
