I am a current student at this school, I wouldn't recommend any child to come here it just doesn't have "high learning" the majority of the students act out and just don't care many are influenced by that you see students walking in the halls all day it's a sad school. You may have gone to this school many years ago and say it's a good school maybe the time you were there but things have changed so far my high school years have been "years that won't be remembered" I make pretty good grades getting A's and B's and hoping my college years will definitely be a happier experience. The neighborhood is bad not horrible but still bad, police and many community watchers are always outside when school hours are done so you don't feel threatened walking home well that's if your not in a gang guess you'll be alright. A few weeks back it was No uniform day and the principal announced you couldn't wear anything red said "It was a gang color" which is absolutely ridiculous when nowadays every color is a gang color but she's the principal so. Most of the teachers are nice I can agree with that but I wouldn't say I'll remember their faces let alone their names they don't impact you much you wouldn't feel "Wow what this teacher said I'll always remember" but hey that's just my opinion. I have a younger sister soon to be a high school student and she will definitely not go to this school as long as I'm around. For those who have gotten this far thank you for reading my review but I highly recommend you think more than 5 times before you even consider going to Richards.

What I love the most about Richards is that they believe that all children are capable of success, no matter what your learning capacities are. Anyone who wants individual help gets it. There is such a bonding between teachers/staff and students, that it makes everyone feel right at home. There is an eagerness to teach new ideas that it keeps all the classes interesting. I highly recommend this school.

EVELYN WASHINGTON: I went to richards and graduated in 2009, the school is small but you get all the help you need from the teachers, you can get 1 on 1 time, and if you some early, you can extra credit done. i love the teachers and the wonderful staff. its like your walking into another home everyday. when you walk through richards doors, you feel like you're in a family members home. they treat you like family, and they push you to do betta.. like famliy would. i love richards. i was culinary arts and my teacher was like my mom. she always checked up on me. I LOVE RICHARDS CAREER ACADEMY

I would have to definitely concur with Christian. I graduated from Richards In 2005 and I made the decision to strive for a higher education- attending college was not the eases thing for me coming from Richards but, it was not the teacher’s fault in fact I will be the first to say I think we had great teachers it was just some of us, myself being one that picked and choose the things we thought were important. I really respect Richards a lot and I feel until you really understand the definition of growth you will have the negative attitude towards this institution as such.
