Young Magnet High School

I currently go to this school and am a junior and i can honestly say that i love this school. It's highly competitive and the curriculum has so many classes and chances to offer.  I find myself among other students who share my ambitions and interests as well. The extracurricular activities and clubs offered are extensive with high levels of participation.  Parent involvement is also a plus, my dad is on the LSC for my school and keeps involved with our schools latest achievements.  LSC and the student council work to help improve and maintain a well rounded school.  The classes are challenging and most students will go on to Advanced Placements by their first or second year earning college credits.  Whitney Young is located near downtown and is central to commute, while 7th and 8th graders take the school bus.  Whitney Young has also recently been awarded the Blue Ribbon award which is a prestigious award given to schools with high constant academic achievement.
