About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. See Andrew J Brown Academy's test results to learn more about school performance.
In 2011, Andrew J Brown Academy had 20 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. The Indiana average is 18 students per full-time equivalent teacher.

AJB IS A VERY GOOD SCHOOL THE CHILDREN ARE LEARNING ABOVE IPS AND ACTUALLY ABOVE THE TOWNSHIP IF YOU DO A COMPARISON. MY CHILDREN CAME THERE FROM A CHRISTIAN SCHOOL AND I FELT THAT THE SCCHOOL WAS TOO ADVANCED FOR MY CHILD BUT THE SCHOOL WENT ABOVE AND OUT OF THE WAY TO SEE THAT MY CHILD SUCCEED AND NOT ONLY DID MY CHILD SUCCEED BUT PAST THE REQUIRED SCORING BRACKETS IN THE MATH AND ENGLISH CATEGORIES. THUMBS UP TO YOU AJB!!!!! AND THANK YOU!!!
I am about to begin my fifth year at AJB as a primary grade teacher. I love my school and the children we challenge and work with each day. Mrs. Wyatt is a great leader that I look up to in our profession. I know of many teachers that have given up their free time to tutor and mentor our students without pay and they were more than happy to do it. Yes, like any school we have weaknesses, but we strive to be the best. I would also like to note that we are in the top 93% of schools across American when looking at test data from the 2010-2011 school year.
I strongly disagree with your opinion. AJB is the most structured school my child has ever been in. And the teachers and staff take care, and care about every child in the school. They go the extra mile to help every child they they know needs some help. I don't know what your childs situation was, but I know that if it is brought to anyone's and especially to Mrs. Wyatt's attention they will do what ever needs to be done to take care of the situation. I love Andrew J. Brown Academy!
Andrew J. Brown Charter School is a horrible school.I would not, under any circumstances send my child ,if i were you,to that school. The teachers do not do anything if someone is picking on or bullying your child. That school needs to be closed down.
