Deer Run Elementary School

I think it is wrong to judge an entire school by one incident that is told by one source a 6 year old. At this school the teachers work extremely hard to make classrooms individualized with the drastic differences in abilities. The biggest downfall maight be the students will not be ready for middle school when they are sent out into the over sized classrooms and halls and teachers will not know them by name. The teachers give indiviual attention to each child. They even come to appartments over the summer to bring activites and free books for those of us who can't afford to buy books. Last year they gave away several bikes to students. My friend got new coats, hats, gloves, and scarves for her children and backpacks. That is a school who cares more about each child's needs than any i have ever encounter in my childhood.

Do NOT send your child to this school!!!  The teachers let the children leave the class rooms!  My 6 year old left the class to go eat, even though I have NEVER signed anything for them to feed my child!!!  Then they expect me to pay for it when I never even authorized it!!!  They are just lucky that she is not alergic to any foods or I would have a law case on my hands!!!
Then today she was pushed into a doll house by one of the boys that kept taking her toys away... it made her dizzy, so she went to sit down and her teacher yelled at her to go back to her station!  When my daughter tried to tell her teacher she was hurt, her teacher wouldn't even look at her, and said she was too busy!!!  Since when is a teacher too busy to help a hurt child???!!!
My daughter has 100% Honor Role grades for language and math, and then they give her a 17% for Kindergarden Life Skills!?  I think the teacher has serious proplems herself, and is not even capeable of teaching ANY kind of Life Skills Herself!!!

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE!!  THERE IS A REASON THEY HAVE THE LOWEST I-STEP SCORES IN THE DISTRICT!!!
