Weber Elementary School Reviews
If you choose Weber for your child, it helps to be rich. It's alsoa good choice if you want to have to teach your child more to catch them up to pace with their peers once they enter junior high. My older children went to different schools in the district and when my two youngest attended Weber it was very different money-wise. They are given enough money by the district to fund for the students on trips to places such as Lake Macbride yet they send kids home with requests slips for money in order to go on the trip. At other schools in the district, this trip is free. For holidays they have children bring home a slip that says if we want to give a gift to the teachers, we should think of donating money to the school instead. With all this money, they should spend it on things like expanding a new room for the before and after school program. There is a long list of students that need a place to stay every morning and afternoon before their parents can come pick them up. Some parents are on the list for all 6 years their children are in elementary school and never get in. Others that are already in have to pay the fee to keep their position even when their children withdraw or only go once a week. Instead of doing things that would benefit the students and parents, they go and build a new playground. Academically, compared to my older children, the students at Weber elementary study about 2-3 grades behind. They didn't reach long division at Weber when my son had reached it by the 5th grade. My youngest son came home and told us his new friend who transferred from a different school, told him that what they were learning here at Weber in the 4th grade, he had already learned in the 2nd grade. Now Weber is excellent for their extracurricular opportunities. I give them that, they have everything from Chess Club to Spanish Club but of course, unlike other schools, you have to pay a fee for your child to enjoy such groups. Over all, I would not recommend Weber Elementary to any parent moving into the area.
