Claude A Huyck Elementary School Reviews
When the principal was Vicki Smothers, this school was doing very well. Since Mrs. Smothers left just 2 years ago the school has went down hill. They're are several new school teachers that are not teaching and have no idea how to do their job. My son's class has been working on the same level of Math since school started. When I call occassionally to get my son's progress to verify he's staying on task and progressing, I always get a positive answer. But then his grade card shows that he is having problems and not working at a consistent pace. One minute after schools out the teachers and principal make the children stand out in freezing temps during the winter time and rain during the spring. These are the children who are waiting to be picked up by child care providers/daycare centers. There are some bullying issues within the school. I have talked with the principal after 1st speaking with the teacher about a child destroying my son's property and pushing him. The principal said she would talk to the child's parents. The problem only got worst. The teacher has admitted to me that she just does not have time to work with every student each day due to her classroom size. I have heard enough excuses. There are several other parents in a group I'm in that have stated they are pulling their children out of Claude Huyck. I will be doing the same.

which we as a people may be engaged in."
