Lost River Elementary School

Jeni: I love Lost River! My kids love going to school, the teachers and staff are very helpful and friendly.

Bonnie: I have,and have had children and grandchildren attending this school sense it was built,and I think and so do the children that this school is awesome and the greatest school ever "Go Lions "

Jennifer: My child just started Kindergarten at Lost River Elementary 1 week ago. This will be her second full week at the school. As a parent, I am very pleased with the school and what I have had a chance to see within the school. I like her teacher Mrs. Smith. It's all new to me. In Nashville, Sara went to Pre-k at Dupont Elementary and they allowed me to walk Sara to class every morning, sign her in and walk in to get her and sign her out, which I loved. I suppose, mainly because I knew she made it there safely. Also it was a more one on one with her teacher. At lost river, the teacher and I communicate through notes in her back pack that I hope she retrieves. Over-all I'am pleased so far and I hope my child receives the best eduction she can possibly receive. I just would like to have the option to walk my child to her class. I would also like to speak with her teacher more one on one. The drop off and pick up system works but I feel as if I have to kick my child out of the car as fast as I can and if I m not fast enough every one is rushing. Pick up time she has to jump in the car, can't buckle her seat belt. I have to pull in the actual parking lot, stop,  let her buckle up then I leave. I just feel very rushed and so does she. It is uncomfortable feeling. I think the school is well built and the computers I seen when I had a very fast walk through were great. When I said "fast" I mean it was to her class and out the door. I would have loved to have seen more of the school and spoke with her teacher longer and even seen her classroom a little more. I do not know much about the facilities, extracurricular activities, athletics, gifted resources, or special education so i can not Grade them down below, to the best of my knowledge. My daughter is only in kindergarten and just started the school year. I'am taking all that into consideration with everything I do not know about the school yet. I like it so far and hope Sara continues to like it because she has to be there every day. I do participate in Sara's school after she is home. School does not end. She is still learning and being taught and her father and I after work are teachers for her. We love every minute. I'am sure that over time everything will fall into place and and I will learn more about everything.
