Ninth District Elementary School Reviews

By a Parent on

Besides having some of the LOWEST academic scores in the state, this school has many other areas of concern. For one the many verbally and physically abusive teachers that no one in the district or county including social services wants to do anything about. For two the lack of communication between the school and parents when the parents have concerns. If you voice a concern about your child's academics you're usually placated with "let's just keep a watch on it and see". The only time anything is ever done is when you get an outside party (eg: therapist etc) involved. They falsify paperwork to say they have done stuff they haven't and lose track of children on a daily basis. I myself got calls at least 2-3 times a month sometimes more asking where my children were and being asked to hold so they could find them when I told them my children were at school. They've even dismissed one of my children due to illness before then freaked out when I picked up my other child at the end of the day because they didn't know where the child they dismissed was at. If you're child has a disability, especially a behavioral one, then RUN from this school. They do not want to work with the child in any way. They want you to drug your child or hospitalize them and if you refuse you will become a target of the school and they will do everything they can to try and force the issue against your will. My son was hyperactive and difficult to focus but pretty much well behaved upon enrolling at this school, within 3 years after being called stupid, hit with notebooks, heard people telling me he needed to be locked up in a hospital, choked by a staff member, and repeatedly heard staff talking about him in a derogatory manner he progressed from hyper and well behaved to aggressive and violent: but only while he's in school does he behave this way. I unfortunately waited until my son was negatively impacted to get my son out of this school district, hopefully other parents will heed the warning signs a lot sooner and get their children into a school system that actually values children and wants them to succeed.
