Review Westside Elementary School
Recent Reviews
Westside School has a wonderful group of teachers ( K-5) who, each, do everything possible to make sure each child in a classroom is working at an individual level with great challenges to the gifted set.
The academic core content is high level and every student is encouraged and motivated to achieve their individual highest goals!
The classrooms are comparatively small (18-22 students to a classroom) and the teachers work well with all students.
There are many opportunities for extracurricular activities, academic and athletic, along with 4-H, STLP ( Student Technology Leadership Program at the 4th and 5th grade level), gifted program and the usual athletic dept.: Soccer, Baseball, Basketball and Football.
Westside has a strong Reading Counts program, as well "Battle of the Books". Every student is encouraged and motivated to read everyday.
The volunteer program at Westside is very strong- 6- 10 parents, grandparents, family members or friends, and persons in the community, per each classroom, on an average.
The security at Westside is as strong as any large city or community. This is taken very seriously. Every person coming into contact with any student must have a background check, even though most of the volunteers are well known, nothing is left to chance when it concerns the students.
To finalize... Westside Elementary School, the teachers, Principal, Sevretary and office staff is/are all AWESOME.
