Mill Creek Elementary School Reviews
I think the school needs to focus more on academics than uniforms and trips to Washington D.C.. They say that 94% of the families that go to the school receive free lunch and then expect them to have an extra $500 to $1000 to send their child (Lord forbid children) to Washington D.C. for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. Mill Creek has not set curriculum, homework requirements, or teaching materials. I love the location of the school and struggle with keeping my daughter there each year. The school does have a few very capable teachers who are excellent, but just as many if not more who are not. The principle seems to have a classist attitude and has offended me more than once on how poorer families raise their children. She seems to gather her opinion on unreliable statistics rather than to get to know the families and children on a more personal level. She groups children and families abilities based on their level of income, and that is hurtful and demeaning.
