What I am most ashamed us is how our community has turned it's back on a historically black school in our community. Sacred Heart SKD is over 100 years old and providing our children with a quality education. All who have completed have been able to compete when entering high school. I have always beleived if the wheel is not turning roll up your sleeves and give it a push.Be a solution and not part of the problem keeping the wheel from turning. We are on the road to success, why not join us and turn the wheel.

I will agree the school has been in a rough condition, but next year will be a better year for the school.

C: I feel this school used to be a great school. Lately enrollment is down and they were suppose to announce a new principal since last month but all is hush hush and nobody seems to know anything. They need to let the parents and students and yes the community know who is the principal and hire more loyal teachers. There has been 3 teachers quit in the midst of the school year in the past 3 years. I don't have anything against the school but there is a big issue of how it is being currently managed.

I love this school because it is awesome. The teachers are friendly and are like second parents, the cafeteria is delicious and the staff is friendly.

Sacred  Heart / SKD is exceptional!  It's a small school which focuses on identifying and drawing out the very best in each student.  It prepares students for a life of success by giving them the necessary tools (i.e. a quality education, sound christian formation, and excellent social skills) for success. The small enviroment creates a sense of community where lasting bonds are formed between students, parents, teachers, and the administrators. The school combines hands-on learning with traditional teaching methods. The school is one of the most technologically advanced schools in the parish. Students have access not only to computers in their classrooms and a computer lab but also to smart boards.
