John Dibert Elementary School Reviews

By , a Former Student on

I loved this school from the first time I started there, and that was almost 70 years ago.... I have never forgotten John Dibert, nor the house my Mom lived in for 32 years on Orleans Ave. Nor the house that was lived in by my grandparents andwhere they raised their many, many, children on Scott Street... I grew up there and in New Orleans from Birth till I was almost 18, then I moved to Dallas, Texas sadly, due to marrige...... My whole family was from New Orleans..... I love New Orleans...the people are Good people and kind and loving and caring........ God Bless them.

RUN, RUN, RUN AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. THE SCHOOL HAS A GOOD NAME FROM YEARS AGO BUT HAS LONG VEERED FROM THE SCHOOL OF YESTERYEAR. THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN TEACHER AND STUDENTS IS HORRID. SOME OF THE TEACHERS ACT LIKE THEY ARE UNTRAINED OR NEED THERAPY.  THE ENTRANCE FRONT DESK AND ADULTS HANGING AROUND TAUNT THE CHILDREN AS THEY COME IN LATE. THEY ARE SPOKEN TO IN ROUGH TONES ALL DAY. ON ANOTHER OCCASION I HEARD ONE TEACHER SAY WHILE QUESTIONING A CHILD "DO YOU WANT YOUR MOMMA T GO TO JAIL." STILL ON ANOTHER OCCASION A TEACHER WAS CALLING THE CHILD STUPID" WHILE  "EYE TO EYE" DISCIPLINING THEM IN THE HALLWAY. THEY HAVE A SYSTEM CALLED COMMUNITY VIOLATIONS BUT WHO DISCIPLINES THE TEACHERS WHEN THEY DAILY VIOLATE RULES OF HUMAN RESPECT. THEY CAN BE LOUD, HARSH, GOSSIPY, SELF-INDULGENT AND SELF-RIGHTEOUS. WHERE DO THEY RECRUIT THESE TEACHERS FROM? DON'T SEND YOUR CHILD TO THIS "PRISON PREPARATORY" ENVIRONMENT. THE OVERALL CLIMATE OF THIS SCHOOL IS "YUCK". THIS SCHOOLS ATTITUDE IS " YOU SHOULD BE GLAD I'M HERE TO TEACH YOU, CAUSE YOU HAVE NO FUTURE ANYWAY! BE WARNED!!!!!!
