John Curtis Christian School

The school was founded in 1962 by Rev. John T. Curtis, Sr.  The school currently has approximately 380 students in grades 9-12 and approximately 850 in grades Pre-Kindergarten-12th.  On a separate campus, opened in 1986 at the site of old Kehoe Academy, the Lower School houses all students from grades Pre-Kindergarten (4 year olds) through 6th grade and is just 1/4 of a mile away from the High School Campus down Jefferson Highway.  The High School campus is the site of the original school built in 1963 by Rev. John T. Curtis, Sr.  His wife Merle Manguno Curtis, who was by his side every step of the way, is still active in the school setting today.  The high school principal is her brother Larry Manguno, and has been since the inception of the school.  John T. Curtis, Jr. is the school's headmaster, taking over that role after Rev. Curtis' death in May of 2005.

The school is owned, operated and run by a 2nd generation family of 2 brothers and 3 sisters, who are the Headmaster, Junior High Principal, Elementary School Principal and the Junior High/Senior High Counselors.  Plus numerous 3rd generation family members who are teachers/coaches, etc. as well.
